“The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog” – well I have not written a blog for a long time so just testing out the keyboard. Making sure it works. It does. Is this dragging a bit too much? It was just meant to be some sort of an icebreaker as there has not been a post in a while. Never mind, let’s just begin.

Here is the blog:It is indeed a colourful world, the different shades of green, yellow, blue etc. we see around us mesmerises us, the beauty of nature is unparalleled. But this is a Being Flippant article and it is not about the beautiful world. It is about racism. By racism, I do not mean only discrimination based on skin colour, it can be of many types.

But first.

What is a Race?
A Race is the classification of humans into groups based on physical traits, ancestry, genetics or social relations, or the relations between them. Basically, it can be your religion, nationality, colour, gender… just about anything that defines you and your peers.

What is Racism?
Racism is defined as the belief that all members of a race possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that race, so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.

Racism is a taboo word due to the massive abuse that has been dealt out under its name and hence no one wants to associate with it or be called a Racist.

Now here is the point of this blog, everyone is racist!!! Yea, you heard me right. Everyone in the world is racist, maybe not to the level of slavers, but to some level yes, everyone is racist. You may not even realise being racist, but you have been.

Why and how you ask? Ever thought lowly/highly of someone even before meeting them just by reading their name? Or knowing which country they are from? or just because they are not you. Well, that inferiority/superiority feeling is you being racist.

It all, in short, is a matter of in-groups or out-groups. Whichever group you are in are your equals, whichever group you are not in, there is a good chance that you have been racist towards them.

So yea, everyone is racist. Just make a promise to never go extreme with your racist thoughts and always respect everyone.
